Henry was originally named Chane Tatarski and was born in Ichnya, Russia. His last residence in Russia wa the town of Ekaternieshiev. He immigrated to the US via Liverpool, England on the Oceanic and arrived in NY on about the 27th of December, 1906. He became a naturalized citizen and changed his name to Henry Tarson (but used Tarrson) on Nov. 11, 1914.

He was living with his Uncle Elias Tatarsky in the 1910 census. He was working in a cigar factory (probably cousin John's) in both the 1910 and 1920 census.

Emigrated to the US from Germany. Served in the American army in WWII. Every year Ted & Phyllis would go back to visit the Black Forest in Germany. They had one child, a boy.

Services for Samuel M. Friedman, 76, a civil engineer in Chicago for 50 years, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel at 1300 W. Devon Av. Mr. Friedman died Friday in his home, 6624 N. Richmond St. Until his retirement in 1973, he was associated with DeLeuw Cather & Co., 165 W. Wacker Dr. That year he was given life membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers and an award for 50 years' service. He was a number of KINS Congregation of West Rogers Park, 2800 W. North Shore Av. He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughter, Bette Garber and Myra; a son, Joel; and a sister.
