We know that Israel's father's name was Iosel because of the patronymic naming found on the "List of Jews" censuses that Israel appears on in Ichnya in the 1880's. He is named Izrail Tatarsky, son of Iosel. Samuel's son Joseph (Iosel) was likely named for him. We know Iosel died before 1882, because his wife Risya is living with her son Israel.

Married at home of Ben and Bessie Pincus, days after death of Louis Pincus. Wedding proceeded as planned, but was very simple with no music. Bessie Pincus catered the wedding. Etta Tarson did not attend as Elliott was about 2 years old. Charlotte Tarson attended (age 12) attended with her father instead and Florence was very upset as the wedding was not to have included children. Source: Melanie Greenberg Family Tree.
